The 13th Toyota Body and Paint National Skills Contest 2012

December, 2012, Bahrain, Ebrahim K. Kanoo, the sole distributor of Toyota and Lexus in the Kingdom of Bahrain, organized The 13th Toyota Body and Paint National Skills Contest 2012. The contest took place at the new Toyota Body and Paint Service Center in Arad on Saturday, December 8th, and was attended by Ebrahim K. Kanoo’s top management and delegations from Toyota Bahrain Representative Office, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, Insurance companies, International Paint Companies and other local corporations.

The judges’ panel which included representatives from Kanoo Paint Center principals, De Beer Valspar, Kansai Paint, and DuPont Performance, applied universal evaluation measures to evaluate performance and work quality.

Mr. Ebrahim Kanoo, Director of Operations commented: “Ebrahim K. “The annual Skills Contests are considered important motivational tools to recognize and reward employees’ abilities while encouraging continuous improvement in the quality of the After Sales Service.” stated Mr. Michael Goode, General Manager of Service.

The contestants competed in two categories, the Body Category and the Paint Category, with four technicians in each category. The Body contestants were evaluated based on the welding methods and the panel repair techniques, while the Paint contestants competed in the plastic repair methods, color matching, and surface preparation and top coating.

At the end, Mr. Waleed Kanoo, EKK Director awarded the winners and all the participants, where the first place winners in both categories won BD 500 cash prizes and the opportunity to participate in the Toyota International Skill Contest Champions Assembly 2013 in Japan, while the other participants received prizes BD 150 and BD 250 each.
